Razor... are you related to any American Macleod's (pronounced Mac Cloud, right?) ?? The elder who hooked us in, his middle name is Macleod (and I'm pretty sure it's his mother's maiden name)... Just curious if you guys might be related
Sadie
you take the name of your favourite pet as the first part of your porn-star name, then you take your mothers maiden name for your porn-star surname.. which makes me...george bennet, hmm fairly ordinary i suppose... but her ladyship becomes...poppy male...ah, it works sometimes then!.
this could be good.

Not too hot, huh??
ok it is 4 am and i have not gone to bed so i wont be checking this thread till way later.
still i have a question.........maybe someone can answer it for me.. .
do so many christians believe that anyone who does not believe as they do will burn in hell?.
There are those who even believe those who never heard the word of the Christ or even seen a bible will burn...
I don't believe all churches teach this, although I feel certain (well, according to my own experience) many do. I have met several Christians online that say that they really don't know how God will judge those who've never heard "the gospel" but that they can only put their faith in Him and trust that he will be just. I know the churches I have attended taught that God would show himself to those that he had chosen....I presume that meant those that never hear of him are not part of his chosen and would burn in hell. I think this is based on assumption (because of lack of scriptural reference) rather than any particular scripture and, undoubtedly, varies from denomination to denomination, and even church to church.
Oddly, I can't answer your question about the people who were around before Jesus and during his time who had never heard of Jesus or his message. I know that the OT prophets, etc., according to my old church teachings, were expected to be in heaven. I can remember sermons about them all being gathered around "up yonder" waiting for the clouds to roll back and for the rest of us to be called home.... (ever hear a Carman (christian singer who is, btw, imho a real hottie) song called "Lazarus"?)
Also, why do so many believe Armageddon is a War they will fight for God? Where is that in the bible?
This is a teaching I remember. I don't know if other churches teach this but at my church Armageddon was believed to be a war where many would die and Jesus would be the lead warrior for the Christians. I haven't a clue as to where this belief comes from scripturally (I look into it when I get some time).
Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help. I guess I was a sleepy Christian .

I am so happy that the way is being paved to make it not-so-scary for others to come forward. I think that it is awesome that this problem is getting the coverage deserves...
I also think it's unfortunate that many dubs ignore all that is said regarding this issue (or any of the myriads of issues, for that matter), or make excuses to somehow justify the wrongs that have been done.
I don't know how JR Brown can sleep at night knowing the things that he's got to know.

..get anyone in trouble.
what i thought was a good idea....seemed to be a bad one.
innocently, i wanted to send each person here a valentine card.
Well, April....I, for one, was very grateful to have received a valentine card considering the fact that I won't be getting diddly squat. It's a very strange experience for me, as I wasn't raised in the borg. The past 2-3 valentines days (since we were in and now just my husband is in) have been spent staring enviously at car passing with loads of balloons, hearing my sister talk about the romantic dinner she and her husband shared and their little one-night retreat to a cheap motel and seeing people receive roses, candy....grrrr. It just pisses me off!! Why should I have to do without? This is crap.
Ooops, sorry...didn't mean to start venting there
Anyhow, it was very sweet and thoughtful and it really did make my day. I was so shocked that someone sent me something.....I'm really sorry that anyone is giving you flack for it.
Fortunately, my kids will be celebrating V-day at school (much to the emphatic disapproval of hub...but tough shit for him) and they have already given me the precious little crafty gifts that they make at school. I will hang them (and I may even print out the card you sent me too) on my refrigerator as a reminder to my husband (and to myself) how lucky I am to be able to have the freedom to accept such beautiful presents from the kids.
Thanks again and (((((hugs)))))!!!!

after an elderly elder gave a l o n g ass clenchingly boring public talk about the flood in noah`s day, .
a little boy went up to him at the end of the meeting and asked "uncle ted, was you in the ark?".
the crusty old.
You know how people are constantly coming up and talking to your kids (especially when they are infant/toddler age) and going on about how cute they are, etc, etc....well one day when my son was about 2 or 3 we were in Walmart. And he was pitching a tee-total tantrum. -And I hate it when people do this, as if they can calm my child better than me, or they make the tired remark, "did your mama pinch you?"- Well, this little old lady approachs, talking about "what an ugly look to put on such a pretty face" (speaking of my son, of course). I watch my son as he is calming down and he keeps looking down at her feet. All of a sudden, he stops crying altogether and just points at her feet and says, "Your boots are ugly."
Bet she'll think twice before wearing those hideous boots again!

Keep in mind that nearly all of the sites that were returned under "Jehovah's Witnesses" were apostate.
I have got to say this!! You saying that reminds me of a conversation I had with an elder. He told me to go to any search engine, and type in Baptist, Methodist, Mormon, or even Catholic and you will not find the hate (apostate) sites that you will find with the JWs. He was telling me this as proof that they are really God's chosen people....because so many hate them.
Uh, no...It's because you separate families, you encourage your followers to allow their loved ones (or themselves) to die because of your weirdo blinking-light, ever-changing no-vaccinations, no transplants, no blood doctrines. It's because, with the exception of a few other equally-as-weird cults, you treat your ex-members as if they have the plague...as if they are dirtier than dirt and you encourage everyone who involved in your religion to do this to them. Because you make little kids shut up and pretend that they haven't been victimized in order to protect your mommy organization's precious image.
It is really sad that they can't see that these sites are comprised of people who just don't want other people to have to suffer as they have. Many are bitter, many hate the WTS, but a lot just want to educate others. And that these sites are offered to give many a place to go...
